The hardware we build for.
Three categories where a high-mix, low-to-medium volume box build is the right shape of supplier — and where the enclosure, the interface, and the cabling matter as much as the board. Each page describes what that category demands of a build.

Industrial IoT & Edge Devices
An industrial IoT node is a concentrated box build: a main board and a radio in a compact sealed enclosure, where coax routing and gasket compression decide how the product behaves in the field.
What this category demands →Kiosks & EV Charging
Self-service kiosks and EV charge points are large, mains-powered machines built for public use — often outdoors, in weather and direct sun.
What this category demands →Rugged Display & HMI Systems
The operator interface is your machine's face and a frequent field-failure point: it takes the sun, the rain, and every gloved press.
What this category demands →The build profile matters more than the label.
These three are where the fit is clearest, not the limit of what gets quoted. Instrumentation and control boxes, appliance and foodservice panels, and commercial transportation displays run through the same box-build process. What decides fit is the shape of the program: a sealed enclosure with real cabling and a real test spec, at high-mix, low-to-medium volume.
Two categories are deliberately out of scope. Essen does not take medical-device programs, and does not take ITAR-controlled or defense-article work with Taiwan-based production. If that is your product, we will say so on the first call rather than after the quote.
